Privacy Policy
The short version
AI Citation Checker is designed to require as little personal information as possible. We don't ask you to sign up, we don't collect your email unless you give it to us, and we don't track you across the web. We do use cookies for basic site functionality and we do show ads from Google AdSense which has its own data practices described below.
What we collect
Content you submit
When you submit a URL or pasted text for analysis, we send that content to Google's Gemini API for scoring and store the resulting score, snippet, and metadata in our database so we can render your results page. URL-based gradings are cached for seven days so that subsequent visitors who grade the same URL see the same result without re-running the analysis.
We do not associate submissions with any personal identifier. We do not sell, share, or repurpose your submitted content.
Technical data
We log standard technical information for each request: your IP address (used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention, retained for 24 hours), the browser User-Agent string, and timestamps. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics which is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or track users across sites.
Cookies
We use a single first-party cookie to remember your dark/light theme preference. Google AdSense and its partners may set additional cookies for ad personalization and measurement, as described below.
Advertising
We display ads from Google AdSense to keep AI Citation Checker free. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or learn more at Google's advertising policies.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may also use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

AI Citation Checker uses the following third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies:

Children's privacy
AI Citation Checker is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
